A man suffering from psoriasis developed an infection and a dermatology clinic advised his GP to prescribe him with antibiotics.
However, even though it was documented on his medical records that he was allergic to penicillin, his GP prescribed him with penicillin-based antibiotics.
He took the prescription drugs and suffered an allergic reaction; his psoriasis worsened and, as a result of the allergic reaction, he was admitted to hospital for 10 days while his symptoms were brought under control.
He contacted us for advice and our medical negligence claims team were successful in making a claim for compensation on his behalf.
