Art tutor Phillipa Claydon arrived at work to find her classroom filled with heavy sound equipment, speakers and other equipment used by the music department. This had happened in the past and she had already complained about it and requested that the room be cleared before her class.
This had not been done and no-one was around to assist her, therefore, she had to move the equipment herself. As Phillipa was doing this, she injured her back.
With the help of her trade union, BECTU, and Thompsons, Phillipa received £3,000 in compensation. She said: “Thank you so much for your support and hard work. You have made everything so easy.”
