Support to those who have suffered the loss of a limb
Personal injury expert Thompsons Solicitors has announced it will be working in partnership with a national charity to provide legal advice to those who have suffered the loss of a limb.
Thompsons Solicitors has joined The Limb Loss Legal Panel, set up by the Limbless Association to provide specialist advice and expertise in amputation compensation claims.
The panel will provide support to those who have suffered the loss of a limb through either personal injury or medical negligence.
Substantial experience in amputation compensation claims
Imogen Wetton, a partner at Thompsons Solicitors and based at the Manchester office has substantial experience in amputation compensation claims.
She said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Limbless Association, a charity which provides vital services to those who have suffered limb-loss and those who support them.
“With amputation compensation claims, it is essential that a specialist solicitor is instructed who will understand the circumstances and thoroughly investigate the claim. We look forward to building on our partnership with the Limbless Association and having the opportunity to contribute to their important work.”
She added: “Unfortunately amputations do sometimes occur as a result of medical negligence. We have dealt with many amputation cases which were the result of hospital mismanagement or inappropriate nursing care for diabetes patients and where there has been delays in diagnosis in cancer-related cases. UK medical care is usually of a high standard, but when things go wrong the complexity of proving who was to blame and putting a case together needs an experienced medical negligence solicitor.”
Justice and rehabilitation combined
Set up in 2004 the panel aims to provide members of the Limbless Association with the legal advice, on a free initial consultation basis.
Dave White from the Limbless Association said: “Our legal panel aims to provide our members with the highest quality specialist legal advice. For our members we seek justice and rehabilitation combined.
“We are delighted that Thompsons Solicitors, with its wealth of expertise and experience, has joined our panel.”
