Headway, the brain injury charity based in Chester le Street and Durham
Brain injury charity Headway, based in Chester le Street and Durham, has elected Nicky White from Thompsons Solicitors’ Serious Injuries Team as Treasurer.
Headway Chester le Street and Durham works to improve the lives of brain injury survivors and their families in the County Durham area.
The branch, of the national charity Headway, was recently set up after it saw a need to provide support to those affected by brain injury in the region.
Nicky, will work alongside the charity’s Chair Angela Caulfield to help promote the services it can offer to those affected by brain injury in the area.
She is also helping to design and launch a branch website.
Headway provides invaluable support and advice to brain injury survivors
Nicky described how pleased she was to be appointed to the charity: “Headway provides invaluable support and advice to brain injury survivors and others who have been affected by brain injury. Having worked alongside victims of these type of injuries in my role with Thompsons Solicitors I know how important it is to receive this advice at a local level from people who really understand.
“I feel extremely honoured to have been elected and to be involved with the charity at such an exciting time, when we are looking to grow and expand the services we can offer to the local community.”
Headway Chester le Street and Durham holds an activity day every third Wednesday of the month. Anyone in the area who has been affected by brain injury is invited to attend at Holyoake Community Centre, South Pelaw from 1pm.
