Our client was injured while travelling as a passenger in a vehicle while it was braking.
This week’s case of the week is from the Lancaster County Court where we won a claim for our client who was injured in a road traffic accident even though there was no collision.
Our client was a passenger when the driver lurched forward at a roundabout and then panicked, hitting the brakes with force. The impact caused our client to suffer back injuries when he was flung forward in his seat and the seatbelt locked into position.
At Court we presented very clear evidence, and the Judge accepted the account provided by our client and awarded him compensation.
Speaking about the case Sam Ledgerd from Thompsons said: “Our client was injured because of driver error. It did not matter that there was no collision. Some solicitors might not have been prepared to take this case on in light of that fact, but at Thompsons we always carefully review cases and are not afraid to tackle ones that are a legal or evidential challenge”.
