Cancer caused by exposure to asbestos
A man suffering from cancer after being exposed to asbestos is searching for his former work colleagues to help him claim compensation.
Patrick Noel McCarthy, 60, was diagnosed with asbestos related cancer mesothelioma in September this year.
The cancer of the lining of the lung has no cure and many sufferers die just months following diagnosis.
Patrick has instructed asbestos claims specialists, Thompsons Solicitors, to investigate a claim for compensation from his former employer’s insurers.
It is believed he was exposed to asbestos while working at Watford Engineering Limited, based at Bushey Arches, Bushey during the late 1960s.

Thompsons wish to speak to any of Patrick’s former colleagues who he worked with at Watford Engineering Limited who may have information about the working environment during the time he was employed there.
Patrick was an engineer for the factory which made machinery for the paper making industry. The company went into liquidation in the late 1970s and is now dissolved.
Patrick, who has two adult daughters and three grandchildren, moved South Oxley to Northamptonshire in 1972 and as a result lost touch with his old work colleagues.
He was diagnosed with mesothelioma after going to his doctor suffering from breathlessness. He said it was a shock to be told he had a fatal cancer.
He added: “It is important to me to find out more information about my exposure to asbestos and I would urge anyone who remembers working with me to get in touch.
