The family of an asbestos victim is trying to find out more information about his work history.

Terence Hazelgrave, known as Terry to his friends, from Leeds died from mesothelioma, an asbestos related lung cancer, in November 2010.

The widower was diagnosed with the cancer in March 2009 after complaining of breathlessness.

The former electrician worked for Kenneth Lunn & Co in Meadow Lane, Leeds from 1953 to 1957 and from 1959 to 1970.

The firm was later taken over by R A J Thompson Ltd, based at Thorp Arch, Wetherby and Crown Point Bridge, Leeds, where Mr Hazelgrave worked until 1981.

Thompsons Solicitors are investigating claim for compensation

He understood that his work may have caused his condition and instructed asbestos claims specialists, Thompsons Solicitors, to investigate a claim.

Following his death his son, Mark, continued his claim on his behalf.

The family wish anyone who worked with Terry at Kenneth Lunn to come forward to speak to Thompsons. They are interested in information about the working environment from 1953 to 1970.

They are also interested in talking to anyone who worked for R A J Thompson from 1970 to 1980.

Did you work at Kenneth Lunn & Co or R A J Thompson Ltd?

Mr Hazelgrave said: “It is important to the whole family that we are able to trace the people who worked alongside my dad to find out more about his working conditions.

"We hope that by finding out more information about how he died we will achieve some sense of justice."

Oliver Collett of Thompsons Solicitors said: “It is important we build up an accurate and detailed account of Mr Hazelgrave’s working environment at both Kenneth Lunn & Co and R A J Thompson Ltd. We would like to speak to anyone who worked for these companies, even if they did not know Mr Hazelgrave, so we can establish a clear picture of the conditions he worked in.”

Anyone with information should contact Oliver Collett on 08000 224 224 or email enquiries@thompsons.law.co.uk.
