Spinal Injuries Association to share and celebrate post injury milestones submitted by the public
Leading UK charity, the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), is calling on spinal cord injury survivors to share and celebrate their injury milestones ahead of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day on 15 May.
On 11 May, the SIA launched a #MyMilestone video inviting spinal injury survivors to submit their stories, photographs and videos of their personal milestones via email, Twitter and Facebook. The charity will use submissions to publish a second video on Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day to celebrate people’s injury milestones, however big or small.
The SIA is a national user-led charity for people who have suffered spinal cord injuries. It aims to help victims of spinal cord injury lead a full and active life following an accident.
Samantha Hemsley, a senior serious injury solicitor based in Thompsons Solicitors’ central London office, said: “The effects of a spinal cord injury are life-changing, and victims face an extensive rehabilitation period following injury.
“We have a close relationship with the SIA as a result of working with people who suffer spinal cord injury. We see first-hand the great work the SIA does to provide spinal injury victims with access to the best care, support and rehabilitative assistance in the immediate aftermath of a spinal cord injury and also over long-term.
“We look forward to seeing the many milestones of spinal injury survivors across the country on Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day.”
If you would like to submit your milestone to the SIA then send any stories, videos, photos or words via Twitter, Facebook or email:
