Thompsons Solicitors to sponsor Look Ahead in the North, taking place in March 2015
Headway’s annual residential adventure activity weekend, Look Ahead in the North, is once again set to give brain injury survivors and their families the chance to try new activities and therapies at a special event being held in Kielder Forest, Northumberland.
By holding the event, Headway, the brain injury association, aims to give brain and head injury survivors the confidence to start re-doing activities they may have felt unable to do after their injury. It also provides an opportunity to meet new people and forge relationships in an informal environment.
Now in its fifth year, the event, which has been sponsored by Thompsons Solicitors, will take place on 13 -15 March 2015 and will be attended by brain and head injury survivors and their carers from across the north east of England.
The weekend will involve a range of activities, including fully accessible assault courses, bird of prey demonstrations, a quiz, disco and a zip slide.
Paul Brown, a serious injury solicitor at Thompsons Solicitors and secretary for Headway Wearside, said: “The Look Ahead in the North event is a fantastic opportunity for brain injury survivors and their families to get involved in a range of fun activities, while also meeting new friends.
“At Thompsons, we have close relationships with organisations like Headway to ensure that our clients have access to the best possible support and advice when they are adjusting to life after suffering a brain injury.
"From our work with head and brain injured clients, we understand that recovering from an injury can be a long and challenging journey. That's why events like Look Ahead in the North are so important as they really help to support an individual’s rehabilitation, as well as enhance their social wellbeing.
“We are proud to offer our support and sponsorship to the Look Ahead in the North event again this year.”
