Helen Shakespeare, a solicitor working within a specialised team of brain injury solicitors at National Firm Thompsons Solicitors and a Committee Member of Sheffield Headway, invites everyone to a ‘Brain Injury Information Exchange’.

Sheffield will host the Brain Injury Information Exchange at Sheffield Town Hall on Friday 15th July 2011 between 10am – 4pm. The Information Exchange will enable those affected by brain injury to find out about local services for adults and children and explore local resources. The event is designed to allow those affected by brain injury, their families and carers, to have a say, share their experiences and to talk to those people with knowledge in the area.

Great opportunity for those affected by brain injury

The event is a joint venture between Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There will be a variety of stands covering support services for brain injuries, volunteering opportunities, specialist brain injury rehabilitative equipment, carer and family support for those working with brain injury survivors as well as work, social and leisure activities. Sheffield Headway is supporting the event and will have its own information stand.

Commenting on the event Helen Shakespeare said: “The event is a great opportunity for those affected by brain injury to find out about all the local services available to them under one roof”.

Headway Sheffield is a group designed to provide support to brain injury survivors and their family and friends.
