Thompsons to sponsor Headway’s Look Ahead in the North 2017 event.
Brain injury survivors are set to enjoy a weekend of adventure and entertainment at Look Ahead in the North later this month.
The annual outdoor adventure weekend, organised by UK-wide charity Headway, takes place at the Calvert Trust in Northumberland’s Kielder Forest between 24 and 26 March. It offers survivors, their support workers, family and friends the opportunity to meet new people and enjoy a range of activities and therapies.
At the event there will be wheelchair activities, African drumming, a mobile petting zoo and caricature artist. Visitors can also meet a hypnotherapist, make use of an on-site hydrotherapy pool and Headway, which works to improve life after brain injury, has planned a quiz and disco.
Thompsons Solicitors is sponsoring the event for sixth time.
“When we work with clients who have had a serious brain injury, our primary concern is ensuring they can quickly access the vital support and advice they need,” said a brain injury lawyer at Thompsons Solicitors. “While our primary focus is on ensuring our clients receive appropriate compensation for their injury, including any interim payments so they can make necessary home adjustments to help regain independence, it is also hugely important to connect survivors with organisations such as Headway.
“The support these groups provide is invaluable to survivors, their family and friends. This Look Ahead to the North event is an occasion to come together, have fun trying new activities and meet new people who have been through similar life changing experiences. We’re extremely proud to be sponsoring it again this year.”
