Action for Brain Injury Week: 18 – 24 May 2015
Action for Brain Injury Week aims to raise awareness of acquired brain injury and to improve the quality of information and support surrounding brain injuries in the UK.
Taking place from 18 – 24 May 2015 and organised by the brain injury association, Headway, Action for Brain Injury Week seeks to help the public gain a better understanding of brain injuries and deliver support and information to healthcare professionals who specialise in working with people who have suffered a brain injury.
Paul Brown, a serious injury solicitor at Thompsons Solicitors and secretary for Headway Wearside, said: “In many cases, brain injuries have few visible symptoms, yet the effects can be long-lasting and life-changing.
“We have represented many people who have suffered a brain injury and fully understand the extensive immediate and long-term support victims of brain injury require to aid their rehabilitation.
“We work closely with charities, such as Headway and the Child Brain Injury Trust, to ensure that our clients and their families have access to the best possible rehabilitation and support services.
“Those suffering from brain injuries need the right level of support to help maximise their chance of recovery and enable them to regain their independence and Action for Brain Injury Week helps raise public awareness of exactly what is required.”
