The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) is a charity working to improve transport safety to reduce the number of transport related injuries and deaths in the UK.
The charity provides advice to members of the House of Commons and of the House of Lords about safety issues involving all modes of transport including trains, aeroplanes and road travel.
PACTS bring safety professionals together with legislators to achieve the safest and most effective outcomes.
Information about Transport Safety provided by PACTS
On the PACTS website you can find the latest transport safety news, statistics concerning transport accidents, information about what is happening in Parliament with regards to transport safety, events and conferences being held and much more.
Tom Jones, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Thompsons Solicitors said “The work that PACTS does helps to improve safety for all travellers by providing an essential independent research resource for legislators in the area. PACTS’ research and guidance helps to reduce the number of accidents involving transport but more could be prevented with better safety procedures and PACTS work offers the possibility of that real step forward.”
Injured on the roads? Help and compensation is close at hand.
If you’ve been injured on the roads in the last three years, Thompsons Solicitors' expert road traffic accident solicitors can support you with making a road traffic compensation claim.
Whether you were the driver or passenger in a car, lorry, coach, van, bus, truck, on public transport or were injured as a pedestrian or cyclist, you may be able to claim for damages.
If you have suffered injuries such as whiplash, bruising or a more serious injury following a road traffic collision on the motorway, country lane or city roads, our solicitors across the UK are ready to help you to make a claim and access any rehabilitation you require.
Unlike other firms, Thompsons only ever acts for the injured person – never for insurance companies. This means we will fight harder to secure the maximum level of compensation for your injuries, and don’t need to please motor insurance paymasters.
