Thompsons is currently representing four victims of the attack who have suffered serious injury and PTSD
Thompsons Solicitors is encouraging British holidaymakers who were present at the scene of the 2015 Tunisia terror attack to contact the firm as they may be entitled to compensation.
Thompsons’ foreign jurisdiction team is currently representing two couples who were caught in the mass shooting that saw 38 fatalities at the Tunisian tourist resort of Port El Kantaoui in June 2015.
The couples’ tour operator failed to heed warnings from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) of a potential terrorist threat in the area. During the attack, one of the individuals that Thompsons is representing was seriously injured and all four have gone on to develop severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) because of the experience.
Sarah Gardner, senior foreign jurisdiction solicitor at Thompsons Solicitors, said: “The attack in Tunisia was a truly horrifying ordeal and I can’t begin to think of the pain and trauma it has caused to the victims and their families.
“Despite warnings of a terror threat given by the FCO, our clients’ tour operator failed to notify its customers of the risks associated with travelling to Tunisia, putting not only our clients, but thousands of other holidaymakers, in danger.
“The attack happened more than a year ago, but some of the holidaymakers may still be traumatised, just like my clients, and haven’t yet come forward. I would say to them that we have the expertise as a firm, as well as the external specialists, to help them through this so they don’t have to suffer alone and in silence.
“We are encouraging those affected to contact our specialist foreign jurisdiction team to find out if they have a case to claim compensation for what happened.”
