Thompsons Solicitors announces partnership with Llanelli-based industrial disease law firm J M Parsons & Co
A new partnership has been established between Thompsons Solicitors and Llanelli-based litigation firm J M Parsons & Co, to provide victims of asbestos-related disease in south Wales with specialist industrial disease legal support.
Following the recent passing of Mr. Jeffrey Parsons, Amanda Jones, a specialist asbestos solicitor at Thompsons Solicitors, has been appointed to manage the practice working with long standing J M Parsons & Co staff.
With knowledge of his illness, Jeffrey Parsons approached a former trainee of his firm, Amanda Jones, who he would trust to safeguard existing clients and ensure that they remain supported to the highest standards. Since training under Mr Parsons, Amanda has specialised in working for those with asbestos-related disease at Thompsons Solicitors, a firm with a leading reputation in asbestos litigation.
Thompsons Solicitors has extensive experience of representing, and campaigning to support, families who have been affected by asbestos exposure across the UK. In 1972, Thompsons Solicitors instigated the first ever successful case for asbestos-related disease in the UK in the House of Lords, an outcome which led to tens of thousands of successful asbestos compensation cases.
Amanda Jones said: “I am proud to be trusted to continue J M Parsons & Co.’s high standard of legal service to victims of asbestos-related disease in south Wales and beyond
“The new affiliation between J M Parsons & Co and Thompsons Solicitors will blend local and national expertise, ensuring that clients are signposted to the most appropriate local asbestos services while receiving support from an experienced, national asbestos litigation team.
“I was privileged to train under the supervision of Jeffrey Parsons in the 1990s and am honoured to be upholding the firm’s values and principles.”
Asbestos disease diagnosis? Talk to us for advice and support on how to secure compensation.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease, we can support you with advice on how to make a claim.
The process will be explained in plain English and with no obligation – our priority is to provide you with the best, expert advice on whether you have a valid case for compensation, and to signpost you to further sources of support.
There are strict time limits applied to making a claim – usually three years from the date of diagnosis. It doesn’t matter if the exposure to asbestos took place – as it often does – decades ago, the three year time limit applies to the date of knowledge of diagnosis or date of death.
