Events are set to take place across the UK this week (13 – 19 June) to mark the annual awareness event, Breathe Easy Week.

Breathe Easy Week is an annual event, organised by the British Lung Foundation, which aims to raise awareness of lung health and fundraise for life-changing research to help those suffering with respiratory problems and diseases.

British Lung Foundation support groups will host awareness stands at supermarkets, sponsored walks and cake sales during the awareness week.

Breathe Easy Week aims to raise awareness of, and support people suffering with all types of lung disease, including asbestos-related diseases and industrial diseases such as mesothelioma, asbestosis and silicosis.

According to a British Lung Foundation report, lung disease is one of the UK’s three biggest killers, and there are 1,500 diagnoses of lung disease every day.
