What did Mr Rob K Jones do wrong?
Negligence by Rob Jones or Kenneth Jones
The review of Mr Jones' practices was carried out after concerns were raised by patients and staff at the hospital about his conduct and the frequency of complications following surgery he had carried out.
The main conclusions of the RCOG report that we consider may have affected his patients adversely are:
- He did not adhere to guidelines either in his obstetric or colposcopy practice. This has been shown, the report states, to have had an adverse affect on the patients.
- The frequency of surgical complications following relatively straight forward surgery for reasons of bleeding and fistulas. The frequency is considerably higher than it ought to be which Thompsons consider on balance is likely to be caused by poor surgical technique.
- Inadequate record keeping re operation notes and consenting process.
- Unusual decision making in obstetrics in relation to hypertension during pregnancy which can increase risks to women.
If you have been treated by Mr Jones and are concerned about the level of treatment you have received, Thompsons' specialist medical negligence team will be happy to speak to you. The conversation will be in total confidence and you will be under no obligation to instruct us.
