Thompsons Solicitors works closely with people suffering from asbestos-related diseases
During January 2017, Thompsons Solicitors secured more than £3.7 million in compensation for clients suffering with asbestos-related diseases.
The specialist asbestos litigation team, based in offices across the UK, concluded successful claims for people suffering from diseases including mesothelioma, pleural thickening, lung cancer and asbestosis, securing a total of £3,722,618 in compensation.
Since bringing the UK’s first-ever successful asbestos-related disease case to the House of Lords in 1972, Thompsons Solicitors has worked with tens of thousands of clients who have suffered as a result of asbestos disease, and has established a reputation as the UK's leading asbestos litigation firm in the process.
As the biggest cause of work-related death since the 1950s, exposure to asbestos dust is responsible for killing nearly 5,000 people a year, according to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
“The dangers of asbestos are well-known but, sadly, the number of deaths linked to historic exposure are expected to rise in the UK until 2020,” said Ian McFall, head of asbestos litigation at Thompsons Solicitors.
“Our specialist teams of lawyers are relentless in their pursuit of securing the maximum amount of compensation as quickly as possible for clients affected by asbestos-related diseases and can offer access to a wide range of professional support.”
Client Feedback
“Good comments are always easy to write and these are well deserved regarding the representation I received from your staff. From the very first meeting after taking on my claim, I have received nothing but a very professional approach and an exceptional knowledge of my particular problem, which has resulted in a most satisfactory settlement for my family.
“I would again wish to compliment the team who have made this possible and would have no hesitation in recommending Thompsons to any of my family and friends.” – asbestos disease client
Asbestos disease diagnosis? Talk to us for advice and support on how to secure compensation.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease, we can support you with advice on how to make a claim.
The process will be explained in plain English and with no obligation – our priority is to provide you with the best, expert advice on whether you have a valid case for compensation, and to signpost you to further sources of support.
There are strict time limits applied to making a claim – usually three years from the date of diagnosis. It doesn’t matter if the exposure to asbestos took place – as it often does – decades ago, the three year time limit applies to the date of knowledge of diagnosis or date of death.
