Two people have been hospitalised following an explosion at an industrial park in Llanelli on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the rear of an industrial park in Llangennech, Llanelli at 11:10am on Monday 30 November following the explosion.

One man was taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance and a second person was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital.

Dyfed Powys Police confirmed that there was no danger to the local community or the public during the incident.

The Llanelli explosion comes just two weeks after two workers were killed in an explosion at the Celsa manufacturing plant in Cardiff.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has stated that it will be making enquiries into the incident.

“While there is little information about the explosion in Llanelli at this stage, what we do know is that these incidents pose a very serious risk to workers and a robust enquiry by the HSE must now follow to establish the cause of these incidents to ensure that they are avoided in future.”
