Based at Thompsons Solicitors’ Manchester office, Clare Jones is a highly-regarded senior lawyer who supervises colleagues in the medical negligence solicitors department and takes some of the most complex and high-value cases herself.

Clare has dealt with cases involving extremely serious injuries where damages have run into millions of pounds.

Among Clare’s medical negligence claims are amputations, vaginal mesh implants, birth injuries, brain trauma, chronic pain and delays in the diagnosis of cancer and a whole range of orthopaedic injuries.

Clare also has considerable experience of taking cases involving personal injury sustained in road accidents, which have involved complex life-changing injuries.

Clare seeks to maximise compensation for her clients in the shortest possible time. But as a key part of her approach to her job, Clare takes the trouble to build relationships with her clients at a time when they are invariably experiencing the most stressful events in their lives. Clare sees her role as extending far beyond technical legal help and assists clients to re-build their lives.

She values working for Thompsons because of its insistence on treating clients with care and respect.

In her spare time Clare enjoys long walks, plays golf, writes songs and is a member of one of the largest all-ladies choirs in the North West of England. But as a mother of two teenage children a lot of time is spent with her family. If there is any time left, there is a “crazy” cocker spaniel to look after.

Clare’s case experience

  • Secured ÂŁ2.2 million for a client in a complex case inherited from another firm, which had been underway for nine years without resolution. The claim involved a young man who suffered devastating injuries when he was knocked down while getting off a school bus at the age of 12.
  • Secured a ÂŁ1.6 million lump sum and ÂŁ52,000 a year as part of a package to compensate a cyclist who suffered life-changing injuries when he was hit by a vehicle whose driver had been drinking heavily the previous evening.
  • Represents clients who make up over 400 people who brought their cases to Thompsons Solicitors following controversial mesh surgery.
